Earl T. Demaree,90, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, April 4, at Gregg's Hilltop Nursing Home in Cherokee. Funeral services were held Friday morning at Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, with the Rev. Bob Davis officiating. Burial was in Afton Cemetery.

Mr. Demaree was born March 21, 1888, at Madison, Ind. He was united in marriage to Sylvia Driggs, who passed away in 1941; he then married Orpha M. Schnell who passed away in 1974. A resident of Cherokee the past several years, Mr. Demaree had farmed in Afton township from 1928 until retiring in 1968. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cherokee.

Survivors are two sons:Robert Demaree of Aurelia and Garland Demaree of Sequim, Wash.,and five grandchildren. His parents, a son, three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
