Sylvia Ann Demaree, daughter of William F. and Nancy Driggs was born Sept. 30, 1893 at Madison, Ind. and passed away Tues. , May 4, 1943 in her fiftieth year.

She grew up in Masison , attending the schools there. She was united in marriage to Earl T. Demaree at that city on Mar 9, 1916.
Following their marriage they established their home on a farm in Cherokee, County, Ia.. To this union 3 sons were born; Garland of Bremerton Washington; Lowell and Robert both of Cherokee.
As a girl Sylvia united with The Metodist Church at Madison. later transferring her membership to the Cherokee Methodist Church. and in 1935 uniting with the Aurelia Methodist Church.

For several years she has not enjoyed very good health, ans as a consequence has not been able to take an active part in Matters outside of her home.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, 3 sons, 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Her sisters and brothers are Maude, ( Mrs.Batschelet)of Madison, Ind. Mary, ( Mrs. Jessup) of Linddsay. Calif. Hattie ( Mrs Hartgler) of San Louis Obispo, Calif. John of Madison Ind, and Clarence of Temple City Calif.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was a devoted wife and mother, giving herself without reserve to their interests, and finding lifes satisfactions in serving those about her. Her labors have ended and she has entered into her rest.

Funeral services were held on Thurs. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee at 4 p.m. with Rev. E. Stanworth in charge. Mrs. Roy Matzdorff and Mrs. Arthur Phipps with Mrs. O.C. Wadell as pianist sang " The church in the wildwood" and "Abide With Me". Buriel was in Afton Township Cemetery.
