Henry Albert Foust.

Henry Albert Foust was born in Union county, Pennsylvania Nov 17, 1854 and passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Aaron Vanderhoff of Elk township, Buena Vista county, Aug 11, 1929. If he had lived until November he would have reached the age of 75 years.

He came with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Foust, two brothers and two sisters, to Iowa in 1864. In 1869 his parents moved to Cherokee county and homesteaded on a farm in Pitcher township.

He was of a family of eight children who have all preceded him in death, excepting one sister, Mrs. Clara Campbell of Cherokee, who survives him. Those who preceded him in death are Mrs. Angeline Wamsley, Jacob, William T. and three in infancy.

He was married to Mary Jane Becker, Dec. 24, 1882, who preceded him in death in 1919.

To this union were born six children, one son and five daughters. Ida died at the age of 11 years and Inez in infancy. The other four have grown to manhood and womanhood and are all married.

He is survived by his four children, Chester A. Foust of Storm Lake, Mrs. Eva Vanderhoff of Alta, Mrs. Alta Waters and Mrs. Lulu Bugh of Cherokee, also nine grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Brother Foust was a member of the Odd Fellows lodge. He was also a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church and a man who loved the Lord.

Until ten weeks ago Brother Foust was hale and hearty, but disease fastened upon him which resulted in his death.
