Edith Lyle Gilleas
Edith Lyle Campbell, daughter of Mrs. And Mrs. A. H. Campbell, was born in Pitcher township, Cherokee county, Iowa January 24, 1885, and passed away at St. Vincent’s hospital, Sioux City, Iowa, July 17, 1934, age 49 years, 5 months and 23 days.

She was united in marriage to Benjamin J. Gilleas, March 28, 1910, and to this union were born two children, Jean, age 21, and Ben, jr., age 12. Besides her husband, B. J. Gilleas, daughter Jean and son Ben, jr., she is survived by her mother, Mrs. Clara Campbell, two sisters, Mrs. Lettie Jones and Mrs. James Cary, all of Cherokee, and one brother, S. J. Campbell of Quimby. Her father, Mr. A. H. Campbell, preceded her in death October 19, 1923.

Moving to Cherokee with her parents in 1896, she attended the Cherokee public schools and grew to womanhood. The past few years she resided in Chicago, Illinois, and more recently in Sioux City.

A sincere friend, a loyal wife and a patient, loving mother, her passing will be deeply mourned by her family and great host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the Immaculate Conception Church Thursday at 9:00 a.m. and interment made in Mount Calvary cemetery, Cherokee.
