Chester J. (Chet) Scott, 75, of Cherokee Ia. died Mar. 22 1973, at Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. Prior to moving to Cherokee in Nov. 1949, he had lived in Meriden.He was born Feb. 11 1898 in Afton Township, Cherokee County Ia.To James J. and Lucinda (Morrison) Scott. He married H. Marie Fuller on Dec. 10, 1919 in Cherokee and she preceded him in death on Oct. 1950. He was married to Esther Hanson on July 17, 1957 in Cherokee.
Chet was a member of St. Paul Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers, Clarence, William; and Nellis.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Marcella R. Scott of Sioux City; A sister, Mrs. Agnes M. Blake of Aurelia, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Boothby Funeral Home.
