Floyd William Scott was born to Jame J.and Lucinda (Morrison) Scott in Afton Township, Cherokee County Ia.June 2, 1895 and died at his home, 512 Spruce St. Cherokee on May 9, 1960.
He had lived his entire life in Cherokee County having farmed in Spring Township until moving to Cherokee in 1946. He also was engaged in buying and selling dairy livestock and had searved as clerk at the Cherokee Auction Company for many years. He was a member of the Bethlehem Luthern Church.
On Feb. 27, 1915 he married Winnie Johnson .
He is survived by his wife, Winnie; a niece Geraldine Scott, whom the couple raised. Other survivors are a sister, Mrs, John ( Agnes)Blake; a brother , Chester Scott, Cherokee And several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were conducted from Bethlehem Lutheran Church on May 12 with the Rev. Walter E. Lack officiating. "The Lord is my shepard" and " I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say" was sung by Mrs. A.L. Swanson And Mrs. Lack with Mrs. bertil Peterson as organist.
Boothby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Buriel was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cherokee. Pallbearers were Oren Kelly, Lew Crane, Frank Ducommun. Walter Meinking, Burt Mummert And Troy Mummert.
