Esther H. Scott, 91, Storm Lake IA, died Sat. Mar. 23, 1996, in Buena Vista Manor at Storm Lake. Funeral services were held Wed. Mar. 27, At 1:30 p.m. in First Presbyterian Church in Alta, Ia. with Rev. LLoyd DeJonj officiating. buriel was in the Elk Township Cemetery at Alta. Barker Funeral Home in Alta was in charge of arrangements.Esther was born Jan. 7, 1905, to Bertil and Katrina Mattison Hanson at Alta. She graduated from Alta High School in 1922. After graduation, Esther worked for the Alta Phone Company. In the early 50s, she trasferred to Cherokee, where she started working for Northwestern Bell.
She married Chester Scott in 1957 at Cherokee. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a step-daughter, Marcella Scott of Dakota Dunes, SD and a sister, Ella Pugh of Lamar Mo. and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Chet, six brothers ans 2 sisters.
