Jean Elizabeth Pentico, 72, of Minneapolis, Minn, died Sept. 24, 2005 at her home.
Graveside services were held Sat. Oct. 8, at the Afton Township Cemetery, rural Cherokee, IA. The Boothby funeral Home of Cherokee was in charge of the arrangements. The Rev. Craig Zumbrunnen officiated.
Jean was born Mar. 16, 1933 in Cherokee to Carl (Kled) and Ruth (Ware) Swanson. She graduated from Wilson High School in 1951 and attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake IA. She married James Pentico on June 30, 1954 in Cherokee. The couple made their home in Minneapolis MN. since Labor Day of 1956. She was a life Member of the Star Spangled Banner VFW Auxiliary and a member of the Giant Valley American Legion Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband Jim; One daughter Lori Benson and her husband Bruce of Bloomington MN: Son Michael Pentico and his wife Carla of Waseca, Minn.; grandchildren; Camron and Callie Bensen; a sister-in-law Carolyn Eberle of Storm Lake, IA 2 Aunts; Jean Peterson and Roberta Kintigh both of Cherokee.
