CHEROKEE, Iowa -- Bernice M. Creuziger, 94, of Cherokee, formerly of Sioux City, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, at Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital in Cherokee.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Greenwood Funeral Home in Cherokee, with the Rev. James Steen officiating. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City. Visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 7:30 p.m., at the funeral home.
Bernice was born Oct. 23, 1910, in Bruce, S.D., to Emil and Jettie (Moen) Johnson. Following her education, she worked as a homemaker and housewife until 1962. She then worked as a seamstress for Fishgall's in Sioux City until 1975. She moved to Alabama for 10 years and then moved back to Sioux City before moving to Cherokee in 2001.
In 1930, she married Clyde Cook in Brookings, S.D. In 1942, she married Paul Butler in Brookings, S.D. She later married Walter Creuziger in 1974, in Sioux City. She was preceded in death by all three of these men.
Survivors include two daughters, Delores Jarman of Pensacola, Fla., and Cheryll and her husband, Philip Jacobson of Cherokee; a son and his wife, Paul and Myong Butler of Lacey, Wash.; four granddaughters; two grandsons; and two great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her husbands and siblings.
