CHEROKEE, Iowa -- Eloise M. Tentinger, 82, of Cherokee, died Friday Oct. 14, 2005, at Cherokee Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Greenwood Funeral Home in Cherokee, with the Rev. Larry Ostercamp officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Cherokee. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to service time Monday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.greenwoodfuneral.com .

Eloise was born March 3, 1923, in Meriden, Iowa, to August and Freda (Mattson) Peterson. She attended school in Cherokee, graduating from high school in 1941. She attended nurse's training for one year. Her greatest joy was being a nurse at Sioux Valley Hospital in Cherokee.

She married Lloyd Tentinger in South Sioux City in 1942.

Survivors include a son, Rick Tentinger of Surfside Beach, S.C.; daughters, Tonya Tockes of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Cindy Mueller and her husband, Denny of Cherokee; a sister, Evelyn Schuster of California; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Leonard Peterson; and sisters, Ethel Geringer and Rosella Powell.
