AURELIA, Iowa -- Amy Peterson, 91, of Aurelia died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2006, at Sunset Knoll Care and Rehab Center in Aurelia where she had been a resident since Dec. 29, 2004.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at First Congregational Church in Aurelia, with the Rev. Bruce Rapp officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Meriden, Iowa. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia.
Amy Adelia Mason was born March 16, 1914, the daughter of George and Olive (Nelson) Mason, in Meriden, Iowa. She graduated from Meriden High School.
On Feb. 1, 1942, she married Carl Peterson. They lived on the family farm south of Aurelia. To this union two children were born, Larry Donald and Beth Carlene. They retired from the farm and moved into Aurelia on March 4, 1970. Carl passed away Sept. 19, 1973.
She was a member of First Congregational Church, Women's Fellowship, the church circle, the Aurelia Federated Women's club, Even Dozen Card Club and Aurelia Senior Citizens.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Beth and Keith Troyer of Eagan, Minn.; a daughter-in-law, Kathleen Peterson of Sioux Center, Iowa; six grandchildren, Kent Troyer, Amy and her husband, Todd Hartman, Katie Troyer, Rhonda Peterson, Craig Peterson and his wife, Terra, and Carla Peterson; four great-grandchildren, Calie and Tasha Peterson and Alia and Scottland Hartman; a brother and his wife, Lyle and Lorrene Mason of Cherokee, Iowa; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl; her son, Larry on Nov. 2, 1991; two brothers, Donald and Ben Mason; and a sister, Louise Gravatt.
