Audrey Nelson, 65, of 803 Jefferies, Cherokee, Iowa died Tuesday January 24, 2006 at her home, following a 7 month illness.

Services will be held Friday at 10:30 A.M. at the First Church of Christ in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Gary Swick will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee, Iowa. Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M., with the family present from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. at Greenwood Funeral Home, Cherokee. Audrey was born December 22, 1940 to Bill and Mildred (Leonard) Good. She was educated in Cherokee, graduating from Washington High School in 1959. She then attended Mankato Business College in Mankato, Minnesota. Following her graduation from business school she moved to Spencer, Iowa and worked as a legal secretary.

On July 2, 1962 she married LeRoy Nelson in Yankton, South Dakota. Audrey moved to Cherokee, Iowa where she worked for Miller-McClintock-Bell and later Grundman-Hicks. She worked for the Cherokee Mental Health Institute for 23 years, retiring in 2003. She enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Quilt Bats. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, bowling, and watching family events.

Survivors include her husband; daughter, Lisa Bingham, and her husband, Scott, of Cherokee, Iowa; son, Terry Nelson, of Cherokee, Iowa; 4 grandchildren, Shelby and Jordan Bingham, Parker and Kain Nelson; brothers, Louis Good, of St. Louis, Missouri; Craig Good, and his wife, Darla, of Cherokee, Iowa; Ron Good, and his wife, Kathy, of Meriden, Iowa; sister, Shari Downing, and her husband, Dale, of Lake City, Florida; and many relatives and friends.

Preceding Audrey in death were her parents.
