Don Haselhoff, 65, of Cherokee, Iowa, died Monday, March 6, 2006, at his home, following a lengthy illness.

Services will be Thursday, March 9, 2006 at 10:30 A.M. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee, Iowa. Father Armand Bertrand will officiate. Burial will be in the Mount Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 8, 2006, from 1:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at the Greenwood Funeral Home, Cherokee, Iowa, with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. followed by a rosary with the Knights of Columbus. Don was born on the family farm in Sac County on October 11, 1940 to Arnold and Mildred (Siepker) Haselhoff. He attended school in Schaller, Iowa, graduating from Schaller High School in 1959. For several years he worked on a farm near Alta, Iowa and did custom corn shelling. On October 15, 1960 he married Jean Rasmussen in Schaller, Iowa. Don went to work for Structural Designs in Holstein, Iowa for 4 years. Following his years with Structural Designs, he moved to Cherokee, Iowa in 1966 and began working for Grundman-Hicks Construction. In 1967 he started Haselhoff Construction and also worked for Wilson Packing Plant. He continued to work construction all of his life and his last job was finishing his daughter Ann’s home in Cherokee, Iowa.

Don was a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and was Past Grand Knight, member of the Immaculate Conception Church parish council, past president of the Cherokee Country Club, Lions Club, and the Iowa Great Lakes Fishing Club.

Don enjoyed his family, fishing, working and cooking.

Survivors include his wife; daughters, Ann Letsche, and her husband, Mike, of Cherokee, Iowa; Jan Schirrmacher and her husband, Ron, of Ida Grove, Iowa; Lynn Tevis, and her husband, Robert, of Frisco, Texas; son, Jim Haselhoff, and his wife, Susie, of Cherokee, Iowa; grandchildren, Sophia Haselhoff, Emily Haselhoff, and Brandon Schirrmacher; brothers, Bob Haselhoff, and his wife, Cindy; Roger Haselhoff, and his wife, Beckly, of Aurelia, Iowa; Ken Haselhoff, and his wife, Mary, of Quimby, Iowa; sister, Mary Volkert, and her husband, Steve, of Aurelia, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother (Jim,1960)
