Betsy D. Grause, 70, of Cherokee, Iowa, died Monday, July 10, 2006 at her home, following a lengthy illness.

Services will be held Thursday July 13, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at the Greenwood Funeral Home, Cherokee, Iowa. Don Agostine will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery Cherokee, Iowa. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00 to 9:00 P.M., with the family present from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent at www.greenwoodfuneral.com .

Betsy was born March 27, 1936 in Waterloo, Iowa to Michael E. and Bernie (Furlong) Joyce. She attended school in Waterloo, graduating with honors from Waterloo East High in 1954. Betsy sold cutlery in the Waterloo area for several years.

She moved to Cherokee, Iowa in 1970 and worked for Wilson Foods Inc. for many years.

Following her retirement, Betsy kept busy working for Rhoadside Greenhouse, Cherokee Mental Health Institute, and driving the SRTS bus in Cherokee. She was a member of the V.F. W. Auxilary. She enjoyed playing cards and computer games.

Survivors include sons; Michael Engleman, and his wife, Linda, of Cresco, Iowa; Casey Engleman, of Cherokee, Iowa; 11 stepchildren and numerous step-grandchildren; grandchildren; Jeremy Engleman and Molly Engleman, of Cresco, Iowa; Michael Engleman, of Meriden, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Grause (1999), her parents; a sister, May Ellen Jensen; a son, Brad Engleman; a granddaughter, Jessica Engleman.
