A very pleasant event occurred at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L.C. Boughton on Saturday evening last; being the occasion of the marriage of their daughter Mae to Dr. S.G. Dowdy of this city. The wedding was quiet one, only relatives being present. The ceremony was performed at 8:30 by Rev. J.P. Stire, after which a pleasant family wedding supper was enjoyed. The bride is an amiable and accomplished lady, having spent several years in teaching in this and other cities. Dr. Dowdy has practiced dentistry here nearly two years and by his goodness of mind and character has won the esteem of a host of friends. We have nothing but hearty congratulations to offer the worthy couple, and trust that through this auspicious union their lives may be blessed and all fond hopes realized.
