EXCHANGE MARRIAGE VOWS AT FT. DODGE

A quiet nuptial ceremony linking the lives of two prominent Pierson citizens and churchmen was solemnized at Ft. Dodge Wednesday, May 3, 1939 when Mrs. Maude Barkley was wedded to Oren L. Keck. The ceremony was performed in the parsonage of the Riverside Methodist church at eleven o'clock. Rev. Geo. R. Gilbert, former pastor of the Pierson M.E. church, and a close friend of the Barkley family, officiated, using the single ring service.

The bride was attractively gowned in peacock blue silk crepe with harmonizing accessories. Immediately following the exchange of sacred vows a two course dinner was served the wedding party in the Berry Cafe in Ft. Dodge.

Mrs. Keck has been associated with the social and religious life of Pierson for a number of years. She is a past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, was postmistress for eight years, an active member of the M.E. church board. She recently resigned the position as assistant postmistress.

Mr. Keck has been affiliated with the interests of Grand Meadow township and the Morning Star Evangelical church of which he has been Sunday school superintendent for over 16 years. He is active in agricultural groups and the Grand Meadow Parent-Teacher association.

Mr. and Mrs. Keck will make their home on his well-improved farm northeast of Pierson.

So intimately and closely have the lives of these fine people been woven into the community that friends by the score hasten to join the Progress in wishing them an abundance of success and a happy marital voyage.
