Lathrop-Lloyd Wedding

Aurelia Sentinel: At the Methodist Episcopal church in theis city at noon Wednesdy occurred the marriage of Eugene Lathrop of Fort Dodge, and Miss Gertrude M. Lloyd. The church was tastefully decorated with roses, carnations and smilax, and the altar was a beautiful sight to look upon. The church was well filled with people who had gathered to witness the ceremony. At the appointed hour the bridal party appeared at the church, and as the notes of the wedding march were heard the company approached the altar where Rec. A.E. Slessor stood in waiting. The bride on the arm of her brother, B.E. Lloyd, and followed by the maids of honor, Mrs. B.E. Lloyd and Miss Anna Hepler of Fort Dodge, marched up the north isle of the church, while the groom accompanied by his brother Guy Lathrop of Fort Dodge, approached the altar from the south isle. After the solemn words of the clergyman, the taking of vows and the bowing of heads in benediction, the husband and wife led the way down the north side of the church. The bride, brunette in type, looked radiantly happy in a becoming gown of blue silk with collarette of pearl passamentere, white slippers and gloves and a bouquet of brides roses. The maids of honor were tastefully attired in white silk gowns and white gloves and slippers. The groom and best man wore the conventional black.

After the ceremony the relatives and a few friends of the contracting parties went to the home of the bride’s mother, Mrs. J.E. Lloyd, and partook of the wedding dinner. The presents received were useful and beautiful.

The out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. W.D. Lathrop, parents of the groom; Orin and Guy Lathrop, Mrs. Chas. Hepler and daughter Anna; and Miss Cuppet, all of Fort Dodge; Mrs. G.B. Mountford and sons, Howard and Ray, of Spencer. Mr. and Mrs. Lathrop left on the evening train for Sioux City and after a short wedding trip will go to housekeeping at Fort Dodge.
