January 31, 1996Lewine Cassidy, 97, of 304 Washington, Rockwell, died Sunday evening (Jan. 28, 1996) at the Rockwell Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rockwell, with Father John Kremer of Holy Family Catholic Church officiating. Interment will be at St. Patrick's Catholic Church Cemetery, Dougherty.
Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. today at the Parish Center, with a 7 p.m. parish rosary.
Fullerton Funeral Home, Rockwell, is in charge of arrangements.
Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Lewine Cassidy Memorial Fund.
M. Lewine Cassidy was born on Aug. 4, 1898, in Dougherty, the daughter of Daniel J. and Rose (McMenimen) McLaughlin.
She was a graduate of St. Patrick's school. She was employed as a helper for area neighbors until she was united in marriage to Maurice Cassidy on Sept. 29, 1925, in Dougherty.
She worked as a partner in her husband's custom farm work as well as being a homemaker. She has lived in Rockwell since 1935.
She is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and served as the treasurer for the guild.
Her special interests included cooking and being a seamstress.
Lewine will be missed by her loving family, her daughter, Mrs. Lloyd (Marian) Witte, of Green Bay, Wis.; her son, Robert Cassidy of Rockwell; and her one granddaughter, Mrs. Michael (Cyndi) Seamon of Plymouth, Minn.; and her one sister, Mrs. Walter (Marcella) Jackson of Clear Lake.
Lewine was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice, in 1988; her parents; two sisters, Eleanor Zweck and Leona Fox; three brothers, John, Daniel and Joseph McLaughlin; and one infant daughter.
