Ruth A. Angel, of 6505 W. 103rd St., Overland Park, Kan., formerly of Mason City, died Saturday (Feb. 3, 1996) at the Indian Meadows Nursing Home, Overland Park.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Major-Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave.

February 06, 1996 - Ruth A. Angel, 99, of 6505 W. 103th, Overland Park, Kan., formerly of Mason City, died Saturday (Feb. 3, 1996) at the Indian Meadows Nursing Home, Overland Park, Kan.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with the Rev. Paul Boostrom of the First Christian Church officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and until time of services on Wednesday.

Ruth A. Angel was born July 17, 1896, the daughter of Robert Andrew and Anna Mary (Myers) Scott in Mason City.

Ruth attended Mason City schools and graduated from Mason City High School on June 4, 1915.

Ruth worked as a bookkeeper for the Cerro Gordo Implement Company and retired in 1958.

She was married to Seymour Angel on July 18, 1934, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.

Ruth lived all of her life in Mason City.

She was a member of the First Christian Church, where she was a charter member. She belonged to the Grandmothers Club, the Rebekah Lodge #106 and the Shrine Auxillary.

She is survived by one son, James S. Angel and his wife, Beverly, of Lenexa, Kan.; two granddaughters, Catherine A. Angel of Lenexa, Kan., and Carolyn A. Mantooth and her husband, Steve, of Shawnee, Kan.; and two great-granddaughters, Ashley L. Mantooth of Shawnee, Kan., and Katie N. Mantooth of Shawnee, Kan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1962; one sister, Emma Gordon; and four brothers, Charles, Glen, David and Floyd Scott.
