ROCKWELL - Phyllis M. (Mrs. Martin) Treston, 77, of 303 N. Third St., died Friday 12 Jan 2001) at Mercy Health Center-North Iowa.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rockwell, with Pastor Leo Riley as celebrant. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Rockwell.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Fullerton Funeral Home, 120 Third St. S., Rockwell. A parish vigil scriptural wake service will begin at 5 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers those who want to express their sympathy may direct memorials to the Phyllis M. Treston Memorial Fund.

Phyllis was the daughter of Martin Joseph Eischeid and Pauline Germann Eischeid. She was born and lived in Wittemore until 1939 when her family moved to Webster City. Phyllis graduated from Hamilton School of Commerce in Mason City and worked for Standard Oil in Mason City.

She married Martin Dennis (Denny) Treston, son of Martin M. Treston and Susan Lucinda (Lou) Gibson Treston at Fort Dodge on 12 Feb 1947. They spent the first few years of their married life in Mason City and then moved to Rockwell, Denny's hometown. Phyllis was the town clerk of Rockwell for many years.

In addition, through the years she was very active both in the Rockwell community and the Sacred Heart Parish. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Guild, the American Legion Auxiliary, the 500 Club and the Rockwell Public Library board.

Phyllis was a devout Catholic and attended daily Mass when she was able. She also enjoyed playing cards, reading books and her little dog, Snookums. She took great delight in her children and her grandchildren and loved spending time with them.

Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Sherry Treston and her partner, Carolyn Stanek, of Hinsdale, IL, and their children, Tai Li Stanek and Kai Mei Treston, Shirley Severson and her husband, Vance, of La Porte City and their children, Adam, Alicia and Andrew, and Sheila Boyle and her husband, Jay, of Vancouver, WA, and their children, Jacob and Aaron; her sister, June Cone of Independence; her brother, Gerald (Jerry) Otto Eischeid and his wife, Darlene, of Urbandale; her sister-in-law, Margaret McMonagle and her husband, Cecil, of Mason City; many nieces and nephews; and many good friends and neighbors.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Denny; their daughter, Mary Denice; her parents; and one sister in infancy.
