SUDDEN DEATH

Mrs. R. R. Wood died at her residence this morning shortly before seven o’clock. When the Elder got up at six o’clock Mrs. Wood was awake and when he went to call her for breakfast he found her in the same position but the soul had separated from the body. Mrs. Wood had been an invalid for many years but there were no recent indications of such a sudden dissolution. The funeral will be at the house Saturday afternoon.

DEATH OF MRS. WOOD

As announced in last week’s MIRROR the wife of Rev. R. R. Wood died suddenly at her residence about 7 o’clock in the morning of August 10.

Sarah Ann Titsworth was born in Logan county, Ohio, June 11, 1827. When about six years of age her parents moved to Kendall county, Ill., where she resided until she was married to Rev. R. R. Wood, on the 17th day of May, 1853. Four children were born to them, two of whom, Mrs. W. R. Clack and Mrs. H. M. Rosecrans, are still living. Father Wood had also three other children by his first wife, who was an elder sister of the late Mrs. Wood. They came to Clear Lake about 1876.

Mrs. Wood was one of God’s choice women, a fond sister, loving mother and devoted wife – the light of her husband’s eyes. “Her children arise up and call her blesses; her husband also he glorieth in her.” She passed painlessly away Thursday morning and has entered the better land above. “She is not dead, but sleepeth.”

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. T. MacDonald Saturday afternoon from the late residence of the deceased, and were attended by a large concourse of friends and relatives.

NOTE – The headstone in Clear Lake Cemetery reads –
