STEPHEN WOOD DIED AT HOME FUNERAL SERVICES AT WARD’S TUESDAY
DECEMBER 12, 1856 – AUGUST 18, 1946

CLEAR LAKE – Funeral services for Stephen Wood, 89, 417 Winnie street, who died at a Clear Lake nursing home early Sunday morning of the frailities of age, will be held at Ward’s funeral home Tuesday at 3 o’clock. The Rev. C. W. Hicks, pastor of the Christian church, will conduct the rites and burial will be in Clear Lake cemetery.

Mr. Wood was born at Montcello, Wis., Dec. 12, 1856, one of 11 children of Mr. and Mrs. Andrus Wood. July 3, 1878, in Green county, Wis., he was married to Miss Mary Almyra Hodges, who preceded him in death last July 10. They lived in Wisconsin a number of years, moved to Iowa for a few years, then back to Wisconsin and finally to Clear Lake permanently 49 years ago. They had lived in the present home 35 years.

Mr. Wood is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Oscar Frederickson, 504 Winnie street; 3 sons, Jay Wood, Mason City, and Clyde and Byron Wood, Hayward, Wis., 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. William Crawford, Derby, Kan.
