Obituary - Arthur Wilbur Stover

Arthur Wilbur STOVER, 92, of 16 8th S.W. died, Friday, June 15, 2007, at the IOOF Home, Mason City.

Memorial services will be held at 1 P.M. Tuesday, June 19, 2007, at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel 126 3rd Street N.E., with Rev. Kenneth GEHLING officiating. Inurnment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Dougherty.

Arthur Wilbur STOVER was born December 28, 1914, in Rochester, Illinois, the son of Henry and Loula (FUESTMAN) STOVER, after childbirth Loula died and the family relocated to Sheffield. Arthur was raised on a farm four miles east of Sheffield. He attended country school in West Fork Township. Arthur was united in marriage to Luella R. HOLDING on June 9, 1939, in Hampton; to this union two children were born. He worked construction for different companies building bridges, later retiring from the International Chemical Company. After retirement, Arthur worked as an automobile mechanic.

Arthur enjoyed tinkering in his garage working on cars and lawn mowers; he especially enjoyed gardening and helping anyone that needed help.

Survivors include daughter Connie (Rich) MARTIN, Hampton, granddaughter Michele (HALSNE) (Tom) MULDER, Hampton, great-grandchildren Erica and Josh MULDER, both of Hampton, brother Walter STOVER, Hansell, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Arthur is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Loula STOVER, wife Luella STOVER, daughter Karen STOVER, grandson Todd HALSNE, and sister Doris WALLIN.
