W. Redeker funeral to be Saturday
William C. Redeker 76, retired employe of the Standard Oil Company, died Thursday evening in a Mason City hosptial. He had lived in Mason City 50 years and made his home at 682 3rd SE.
Mr. Redeker was born Dec. 8, 1889, in Cook County, Ill., son of Henry F. and Wilhemina (Gillerman) Redeker. He attended country schools in Cook County and later lived on a farm in Mitchell County until moving to Mason City in 1915.
He was married to Pauline Tesch, Oct. 26, 1915, at St. Ansgar.
During his early years in Mason City, he was in the construction trade. He worked in the construction department of Standard Oil Company 28 years before his retirement in 1954.
Mr. Redker was a member of St. James Lutheran Church of Mason City.
Surviving are his wife, a son, Verne A. Redeker, Owatonna, Minn.; four grandchildren, two brothers, Henry Redeker, Manly and John Redeker, Mason City.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Herman, Manly, and a sister, Mrs. Adam (Emma) Hentges, St. Paul, Minn.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. James Lutheran Church. The Rev. Donald Loots will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family prefers that any memorials be given to St. James Lutheran Church. The Major-Erickson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
