R. Theisen, 69 dies in Nora Springs

Raymond A. Theisen, 69, former Mason City resident, died Tuesday evening in a Nora Springs nursing home. He was a retired salesmen for the Montgomery Ward farm store and had lived in the area 50 years.

Mr. Theisen was born May 24, 1896, in Carpenter, son of Lewis F. and Matilda (Lange) Theisen. He was married to Lulu F. Bartholomew, Jan. 16, 1925 in Waterloo.

A veteran of World War I, he was a member of the U. S. Barracks 1661; the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1328; Clausen-Woder Post of the of the American Legion and the American Bowling Congress. Mr. Theisen was an avid bowler and had competed on Moose, Montgomery Ward, Hamm's Beer and City League teams.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Patricia) Austin, Nora Springs; four grandchildren, Pamela Kay, Brian Keith, Mark Douglas and Brett Alan Austin, Nora Spings, and a sister, Mrs. Lee R. (Grace) Chamberlin, Mason City. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lula, in 1958, by his parents, and a brother in infancy.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Visitation will be at the Patterson-Jams Chapel until the time of services.
