Dougherty Woman Dies at Oakdale (June 9, 1925)

Dougherty- This community was saddened Wednesday morning to learn of the death of Miss Grace Wade at Oakdale where she was receiving treatment, and who was at one time a Dougherty girl.
The past five years Grace has spent in the west for the benefit of her health but it seems nothing would help her so about a month ago her brother Clem brought her back to Oakdale where she died.
She leaves besides her mother, three brothers and two sisters. Her father John Wade and two brothers and one sister preceded her in death.

The body was brought here Thursday morning to the home of her uncle Jack where it remained until Friday morning at 10 o'clock when it was taken to St. Patrick's church where Requiem high mass was said by her uncle Father Dougherty, of Dubuque. Many relatives and friends were in
attendance at the funeral.
Among those from a distance were Mrs. Anna Dougherty of Chicago, Mary McCarthy of Bernard, Ia., Mrs. Martin Wade, and sister, Mrs. Crosby of
Iowa City, Mrs. Mag Clarke and Dan Inery, Des Moines, Miss Rose Rooeny, Minneaplois and Mr. and Mrs Bitters of Dubuque.
