J. O'Connor Funeral Set For Monday

Solemn Requiem High Mass will be celebrated for James O'Connor 92, retired Dougherty farmer, at 11:00 a.m. Monday in St. Patrick;s Catholic Church in Dougherty.

The Rev. John O'Connor will be celebrant; The Rev. Joseph Murphy deacon, and Rev. Leander Reicks, sub-deacon.
Mr. O'Connor died Friday in a Mason City hospital. He had farmed throughout his life in the Dougherty area until his retirment in 1947.

Born June 10, 1874, at Epworth, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy O'Connor. He attended rural schools at Epworth.

He was married to Anna Moran, April 28, 1896, at Rockwell.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Art (Irene) Holmes, Sheffield, and Mrs. Tom (Gladys) Albrecht, Greene; five grandchilren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jan. 27, 1947; by a son, Everett, a daughter in infancy, and by nine brothers and sisters.

Mr. O'Connor was a member of Sacred Catholic Church, Rockwell, and a charter member and was the oldest living member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1006.

Visitation at the Hogan-McKee Colonial Chapel has been scheduled from 7 p.m. Saturday until 11 a.m. Sunday and after 1 p.m. Sunday at St. Patrick's School Chapel in Dougherty until the time of services.

The Knights of Columbus Rosary has been scheduled at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Mason City Chapel and at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the chapel in Dougherty. The parish Rosary also is scheduled there for 8. p.m. Sunday.

Pallbearers selected are E. G. Dougherty, Walter Murphy, Tommy Reed, Al Merfeld, Walter McGee and Pat Boyle.
Burial will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery.
