He was born Justin Jeffrey Dixon, the oldest child of two to Jeffrey L. and Michelle M. "Myers" Dixon on June 18, 1987 in Mason City. He was a senior at Mason City High School and would have graduated in May 2005. He was active in extra curricular activities at school, which included playing trombone in the band and jazz band, singing with the choir and being on the swim team.

He liked to hang out with his friends, play cards with his family and loved to work on his car. His mechanical work extended to helping on the farm and operating the farm equipment. He also worked various jobs at McDonald's and for Roly Poly Sandwich Shop.

He was lively and outgoing, always happy and full of spirit, had a hard time fitting everything into a day and he couldn't say no to anyone in need. He finished his jobs and looked for more to do. He achieved the rank of Life in Troop 12 of the Boy Scouts and looked forward to the camping trips with them and his church.

Justin was baptized at First United Methodist Church and was confirmed at Wesley United Methodist where he was a member. He also assisted in teaching Sunday school and was active in many ways there.

He looked forward to trips with his family and recently spent time with his dad on a Boundary Waters canoe trip. His family, sister Jenna and his friends will have lots of special memories of him.

Sharing in his life include his parents, Jeff and Michelle along with his sister, Jenna, all at home; his maternal grandparents, John Myers, of Emmetsburg and Karen Myers, of Donnellson; his paternal grandparents, Delton and LeAnn Dixon, of Mason City; his aunts and uncles, Ron and wife, Kristie Myers, of Iowa City, Kim and husband, Leroy Kent, of Donnellson, Iowa, Sara and husband, Todd Broers, Kari and husband, Jeremy McMannes, all of Mason City; and cousins with whom he loved to play Xbox and show off his car include Lance Myers, Jessica Donahue, Kendahl and Lyndsey Paden, Blaine and Garrett Broers and Austin and Connor McMannes.

He was preceded in death by all of his great-grandparents and three great-uncles.
