BREWTON RITES TO BE MONDAY
Local Man Dies at Iowa City Hospital After Long Illness

Charles Brewton, 66, for the past 25 years custodian of the First National bank, died at an Iowa City hospital Friday, soon after being taken to the hospital. He had been in failing health for several years and had been confined to his bed for the past eight weeks.

Mr. Brewton was born August 25, 1872, in Morristown, Tenn. He had resided in Mason City since 1910. He resided at 530 Fourth street northeast.

Surviving Mr. Brewton are his wife, Maude, and two sons, Cecil, Des Moines, and Theodore, of home, and five grandchildren, and one brother, Jeff, and one sister, Jennie Gleason, Sandusky, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at the Patterson funeral home at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon, with the Rev. J. C. McGinty, pastor of Union Memorial church, in charge. Burial will be at Elmwood cemetery.
