Requiem Mass to Be Monday at Dougherty for Gene J. Kelley.

Requiem High Mass will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Dougherty for Gene J. Kelley, 55, who died Friday in a Mason City hospital from injuries received in a truck accident.

The body will lie in state from 6 p.m. Saturday until the time of services at the H.B. McGaheran
home in Rockwell.

The Rosary was to be recited there at 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Burial will be at St. Patrick’s cemetery in Dougherty. The Colonial Funeral Home of Mason City
is in charge of arrangements.

Gene Kelley Service Held at Dougherty

Solemn Requiem High Mass was celebrated Monday for Gene J. Kelley 56, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Dougherty with Father Joseph Murphy, St. Anthony, as celebrant.

Deacon was Father Ambrose A. McEvoy of St. Patrick’s Church Dougherty, and sub-deacon, Father Raymond Bohrer of Sacred Heart Church of Rockwell.

Jerome Barr was master of ceremonies, acolytes were Eddie Soucek and Dick Knoll. William Boyle was usher. Members of St. Patrick’s school sang the Mass, with Rose Mary Murphy as organist.

Honorary pallbearers were Francis Cooling, Thomas Reed, Joe Hortman, Ambrose Calahan, Francis Corrigan and Robert Mullen. Pallbearers were nephews, Ambrose Rooney, Joe Rooney, John Rooney, William Kelley, Harold Gallagher and Robert Kelley.

Relatives attending the service from out of town were Cletus Kelley, and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard
McEvoy, Mrs. Gene Plounge all of Minneapolis; Elmer Kelley, Blanche Kelley, Mrs Erwin Barnes, Manitowoc, Wis.; Leo Hogan, Melvin McEvoy and John Rooney, Chicago; Edward Gallagher, Rockford, Ill,, Mr. and Mrs. Mike McGaharen, and Matt Kelsh, Owatonna, Minn.; Mrs. Rose Murphy, St. Anthony; Mr. and Mrs. Vern Jacobsen, Charles City; Mr. and Mrs.
P. O’Brien, Hampton; Mr. and Mrs. Al Marshall, Marble Rock; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Jones, Rockford, Mr. and Mrs. Vincent O’Keefe, Manly; Marceleen Hoffman, New Hampton; Martin Bamrick, Ames and many more from Rockwell, Dougherty and Mason City.

Burial was at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Dougherty. The Colonial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
