Stephen Burke Funeral Is Held At Dougherty

Dougherty- Jan. 31 - The funeral of Stephen A. Burke, who died Monday night at his home here took place Thursday forenoon at St. Patrick's church.

The requiem high mass was sung by the Rev. Father Malone of Rockford and the Rev. Father Rooney of this place. The Knights of Columbus, of which Mr. Burke was a member, had charge of the funeral and marched in a body from the residence to the church.

Mr. Burke had been in failing health for about six months. He was 65 years old and had lived with his sisters, Misses Alice and Emma Burke, and niece, Mary Haligan.

Besides these sisters he leaves four more,
Sister M. Euna of Chicago, Sister M. Martin of Dubuque, Sister Osmunda of Des Moines, and Mrs. Joe Cooney of Dougherty.

His mother, father, one brother and three sisters have preceded him in death. The nieces and nephews who attended the funeral were: Mary and Leo Murphy of Minneapolis, Claire Murphy of Mankato, Mrs. W. J. Mullen of Aredale and Sister Robert Claire of Davenport.
