Martin Bamrick Dies in Hospital

Services to be at Dougherty Thursday

Martin J. Bamrick, 87, long a resident of Dougherty, died at a local hospital late Tuesday afternoon, following a long illness. He was the last survivor of eight children of John and Ellen Bamrick who came from Ireland.

Mr. Bamrick was born April 29, 1865, in Dubuque county, where he spent his youth. As a young man he moved to Cerro Gordo county. On Sept. 11, 1895, he was married to Rosetta Murphy at Farley, Iowa.

He farmed in the Dougherty vicinity for more than forty-five years and in 1940 retired and made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Agnes Chute, Dougherty.

Surviving are four daughters and two sons, Mrs. Ben Barr, Mrs. Agnes Chute, Mike Bamrick all of Dougherty; James Bamrick, Rockwell, Katherine and Mrs. Herbert Doering, Mason City; 21 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosetta, in February 1912, and two daughters, Mary Agnes and Anna, and his parents.

Services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's church, in Dougherty, with Father Paul J. Mcquire officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Rosaries will be said at the Chute home in Dougherty Wednesday afternoon and evening.

The Colonial Funeral Home in charge.
