November 15, 1995ROCKWELL -- Ida Hansen, 95, of Rockwell, died Monday (Nov. 13, 1995) at the Rockwell Community Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her son by three days.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at St. Peter Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Joseph A. Miller officiating. Interment will be in the Rockwell Cemetery.
Visitation was held 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Fullerton Funeral Home, 120 S. Third St., Rockwell.
Those planning an expression of sympathy may choose to make memorials to the Ida Hansen memorial fund.
Ida was born one of 11 children to John and Helene (Lakemeinen) Roggemann at Rockwell, on May 14, 1900. She attended rural schools in Owen Township.
She was united in marriage to Cornelius "Neil" Hansen on Jan. 23, 1918 in Rockwell. To this union were born eight children.
She lived her entire life in the Rockwell area, farming with her husband and later moving to Rockwell in 1946. She enjoyed caring for her grandchildren who fondly called her "Granny."
She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, an honorary member of the WELCA, birthday club and the Rockwell Cemetery Association.
Ida is survived by four daughters, Deloris and her husband, Gary Faught, Marjorie and her husband, David Faught, all of Mason City, Erma and her husband, Robert Haarup of Hubbard, and Donna and her husband, David Kruckenberg, of Rockwell; one sister, Mrs. Jack (Helen) Shinn of Waterloo; one brother, Ed and his wife, Betty, of Cedar Falls; a daughter-in-law, Kathleen Hansen of Rockwell; a son-in-law, Junior Culver of Sheffield; 15 grandchildren, Judy and her husband, Kenneth Proctor; Linda and her husband, Kenneth Meyer; Christine and her husband, Kent Morton; Cecil Jr. and his wife, Connie Hansen; Donald and his wife, Dawn Hansen; Michael and his wife, Julie Hansen; Diane Quail; Debra Faught; Cathy and her husband, Larry Scott; Vicki and her husband, Paul Burgess; Randall Faught; Cheryl and her husband, Paul Luppen; Jodi and her husband, John Degen; Jeanette and her husband, Gary Sturges; Dawn and her husband, Joe Heimer; 30 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Ida was preceded in death by her husband, Neil in October of 1963; twins, Donald and Donnela; daughter, Darlene Culver; her son, Cecil Hansen; two grandsons; one granddaughter; six brothers, Albert, John, Bill, Charles, Hank, and Emil; and two sisters, Emma Muhlstein and Ann Roggemann
