Mary Helen Hutchison was born in Mason City, Iowa on January 10, 1930, the daughter of Harold and Carlotta (Pitzenberger) Hutchison. She attended Holy Family Catholic School and graduated among the class of 1947.

On June 29, 1948 Mary was united in marriage to the love of her life, Ralph Luecht at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mason City and would forever be Ralph's “Sweetie”. Together they would be blessed with seven children and 67 years of marriage.

Mary was a devoted wife and mother, lovingly tending to the needs of her young family. Together, Ralph and Mary enjoyed attending dances at the Surf Ballroom in their younger years and gathering with family and friends for their weekly card games, where Mary's competitive spirit would oftentimes shine through. They cherished their trips to Cheyenne, Wyoming to attend the Rodeo as well as many trips to Arkansas.

She enjoyed helping her brothers at Hutchison's Meat Market, preparing ribs in her home and would later spend 13 years working for the Water Department for the City of Mason City. Even after her retirement Mary always looked forward to her monthly coffee club for city employees and enjoyed playing golf with Ralph and other family members.

Mary will be remembered by her family for her love of country music, baking and cooking, especially her homemade pies, and above all else, her love for her family and her faith.

Those grateful in sharing in her life are her children, Gary (Kathy) Luecht, Fort Worth, TX, Jim Luecht, Mason City, Denny (Theresa Ward) Luecht, Swaledale, Patti (George) Masmanides, Minneapolis, MN, Jean (Garry) Price, Clear Lake, and John (Jackie) Luecht, Mason City; 12 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; her siblings, Jim (Verlyn) Hutchison, Mason City, Harold (Eileen) Hutchison, Mason City, William Hutchison, Mason City, Margaret (Don) Bermel, Keota, and Joe (Janice) Hutchison, Mason City; her sister in law, Betty Cummings, Waterloo; and many extended relatives and friends.
