Dalvin Dean Liekweg, 75, of Mason City, died Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016, at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016, at Epiphany Parish Holy Family Catholic Church, 722 N. Adams Ave., Mason City, with an Epiphany Parish priest officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery in Mason City.

Family suggests memorial contributions to the Dalvin Liekweg Memorial Fund.

Dalvin was born on Feb. 26, 1941, the son of Alvin and Estelle (Fisher) Liekweg, in Hampton. He married JoAnn Espinosa on Sept. 26, 1964, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mason City.

A graduate of Hampton High School, Dalvin attended Hamilton College. He joined the United States Navy in 1961 and was honorably discharged in 1963. He farmed in Hampton prior to marriage, then later became a truck driver and continued his career for the next 42 years, primarily driving for various companies.

Dalvin was a member of Epiphany Parish Holy Family Catholic Church in Mason City. He enjoyed his career as a truck driver, watching the Chicago Bears, NASCAR, and hockey. He was a caregiver, wonderful husband, and loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Dalvin is survived by his wife, JoAnn of Mason City; two daughters, Lisa (Steven) Foster and Tanya Liekweg of Mason City; two grandchildren, Nathan Foster and Ashley Liekweg of Mason City; and a great-grandson, Cruz Liekweg-Monroy.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
