Dean C. Wiebke, 56, of Mason City, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at the University of Iowa Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 18, 2016, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 419 North Delaware Ave., Mason City, with the Rev. Mark Lavrenz officiating.

Burial will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 17, 2016, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.

Dean Carl Wiebke was born June 2, 1959, in Charles City, a son of Clifford and Verna (Jakel) Wiebke.

He was a 1977 graduate of Nashua High School and a 1979 graduate of NEICC Tech School, Calmar, Iowa.

Dean worked as an Engineer Technician Sr. for the Iowa Department of Transportation since 1979.

Dean loved golfing with his family and friends, wood working, and building furniture. His favorite vacations were road trips with family and friends.

He served on many boards in various capacities for his church, and was very active with Thrivent and Habitat for Humanity.

Survivors include his wife, Anita (McEnany) Wiebke, of Mason City; two children, Dr. Jill (Brett) Rowland, of Laurel, Maryland, and Matthew (Megan Brodahl) Wiebke, of Waterloo; parents, Clifford and Verna (Jakel) Wiebke, of Nashua; brother, Dennis (Tracy) Wiebke, of Nashua; sister, Linda (Steve) Johnson, of Cedar Falls; brother, David (Polly) Wiebke, of Owatonna, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
