Patricia L. McCarville, 86, of Mason City, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, at the I.O.O.F. Home in Mason City.

A funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at First United Methodist Church, 119 S. Georgia Ave., Mason City, with Pastor Kathleen Moore officiating.

Burial will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery in Mason City.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2017, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City.

Family suggests memorial contributions to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund.

Patricia was born March 23, 1930, the daughter of Howard and Mary Lillian (Prew) Prather in Ruthven, IA. She married Leonard Marxen on Oct. 24, 1948. He preceded her in death in 1957. She later married Ray McCarville on Dec. 11, 1978, at the First United Methodist Church in Mason City.

A graduate of Ruthven High School, Patricia worked at Montgomery Ward, United Home Bank as a teller, A.C. Nielsen entering data, and part time at Co-Mo Photo.

Patricia was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mason City. She liked counted cross-stitching, crocheting, loved to camp, and enjoyed doing crafts, including wooden crafts. She also enjoyed spending time in her flower and vegetable garden. She cherished the time spent with her grandchildren, while also attending their events, playing cards, fishing and camping with them.

Patricia is survived by four daughters, Diane (Richard) Hayes of Mason City, Barbara Scott of Clear Lake, Sandra (Rick) Peyton of New Braunfels, TX, and Connie (Dave) Miller of Mason City; a step-daughter, Michelle (Russ) Spurgeon of Waverly; nine grandchildren, Christa (Rob), Timothy, Tyler, Tony (Kim), Stacey, Brad (Joey), Ariel (Jeremy), Laura (Marc), and Brian; two step-grandchildren, Steven and Bethany; 14 grandchildren; two sisters, Bernadine (Ken) Rodemeyer of Mason City and Rosemary (Gaylen) Dick of Milford, IA; a brother-in-law, Jim (Joyce) Fountas of Mason City; and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Prather of Mason City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Leonard Marxen and Ray McCarville; two sisters, Phyllis Henaman and Jeri Fountas; a brother, Jack Prather; and a son-in-law, Joe Scott.
