Clifford Carl Davis, 69, of Mason City passed away Sunday, April 16, 2017 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.
A Celebration of life will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd Street Northeast, Mason City Iowa with Reverend Kenneth Gehling and Deacon Reagan Banks officiating.
Burial will in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City, Iowa.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 5, at the funeral chapel.
Clifford Carl Davis was born on March 5, 1948 in Mason City to Dean H. and Marlys (Mestad) Davis. He met his wife, Margaret “Peg” Davis when they were both working at Kentucky Fried Chicken, and were married July 26, 1969, in Mason City. Soon after the two moved to Minneapolis where Cliff took a job at Honeywell as a computer operator. Later, they returned to Mason City where he worked at KFC as the manager. He then became manager at the Liquor Store until it was sold. Cliff then worked for the Iowa Lottery until his retirement in 2010.
He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing throughout his life. His favorite hunting dogs were Chesapeake Bay retrievers, but he also enjoyed the family dogs, including a rat terrier and most recently a shih-tzu.
Cliff was loved by many for his great sense of humor and infectious laugh.
Cliff is survived by his wife, Peg Davis; brother, Carroll Davis; son, Scott (Missy) Davis; five grandchildren, Jefferson, Joslyn, Kate, Ann and Daniel; and one great-grandchild, Maleah.
Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, and a son Jeff Davis.
