Larry G. Lee, 73, of Mason City, died Friday, Jan. 13, 2017, at his home.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City, with the Rev. Greg Gosnell officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City.

In memory of Larry Lee, memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa or Faith Baptist Church in Mason City.

Larry was born Dec. 31, 1943, the son of Alan and Ella (Habben) Lee in Ada, MN. He married Sandra Pendergast on Dec. 31, 1970, in Waverly.

Larry grew up and attended school in Ada, graduating from Ada High School in 1962. He was a United States Army veteran, serving stateside during the Vietnam War. He was a hearing aid specialist and optician for 35 years and owned and operated Lee’s Hearing and Optical in Mason City for nearly 20 years. He continued employment part-time at Winnebago Industries for safety glasses.

Larry enjoyed the outdoors fishing and camping, and stayed active helping his neighbors, working on remodeling projects and on cars. He also liked to read, cook and cherished the time spent with his family and grandchildren.

Larry is survived by his wife, Sandra Lee of Mason City; a daughter, Melissa Lee of Maple Grove, MN; two grandchildren, Connor and Quinn Johnson; and three siblings, Dwayne Lee of Mason City, Diane (Melford) Narum of Duluth, MN, Jerry (Cindy) Lee of Bismark, ND; a sister-in-law, Joan Donaldson of Mason City; and several extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a granddaughter, Isabella Johnson.
