Trena Jo Levad, 66, of Mason City, died Thursday (April 14, 2016) at the I.O.O.F. Home in Mason City.

Funeral services for Trena will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday (April 20, 2016) at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 North Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City, with the Reverend Dan Gerrietts officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery following the service.

Visitation will be held from 4 until 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St. NE, Mason City. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.

Trena was born on July 21, 1949, the daughter of Rena Mae Voiers Ball, in West Virginia. She was a graduate of East Bank High School in East Bank, West Virginia. She spent her younger years in the Kanawha County area.

She married Charles Levad and they moved to Mason City in 1978. Together they raised one daughter and two sons, Lisa, Douglas and Anthony.

Trena loved her family. While her children were growing up she attended every event, was a den mother for the Cub Scouts, and was a very competitive Pinewood Derby car spectator. She helped to create fond and funny memories during camping trips, vacations, and family night spent from scrabble to Atari’s Pitfall Harry competitions. After her children were grown she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, working in the garden, growing heirloom tomatoes, tulips, planting and transplanting her roses. Secretly, she tried to remove any marigolds planted by her husband. She would lend a hand to anyone and talked to everyone she met — she never met a stranger. Trena loved studying genealogy about her West Virginian and southern roots.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Lisa (Randy) Pohlman, Douglas Levad, and Anthony (Nikki Welle) Levad, all of Mason City; grandchildren, Amanda (Drew) Holland, Samantha (Greg) Rickard, Kelsey Carlson, Jacob Carlson, Hailey Compton, Athena Levad, Alexander Levad, Rosella Levad, Kobey Pohlman, Kamryn Pohlman and Kaitlyn Pohlman; great-granddaughter, McKenna Rickard; a brother, Jimmy; and sisters, Diana, Sandra, and Debbie; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Trena was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Levad, mother, brother Roland Beane, and other extended family.
