MASON CITY — Robert “Bob” Lee Ezarski Sr., 74, of Mason City, died Sunday (Sept. 20, 2009) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, Mason City from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

A memorial service for Bob will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, at the Salvation Army, 747 Village Green Drive S.W., Mason City, with Maj. Gary Cole officiating.

Those wishing to share pictures of Bob may bring them to the Salvation Army on Saturday to be displayed on the picture board.

Inurnment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Highway 18 West, Mason City, with military graveside honors conducted by members of the Mason City Veterans Memorial Association.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time on Saturday at the Salvation Army.

Robert Lee Ezarski was born on June 15, 1935, in Iowa City, the son of Richard Davis and Eva (Ezarski). Bob attended and graduated from Mason City High School.

Bob was inducted into the U.S. Navy on June 5, 1955, and served his country honorably during the Korean War until his honorable discharge in 1961. After his honorable discharge, Bob returned to Mason City and worked at a safety pin factory before moving to Long Beach, Calif., where Bob worked at an airplane factory until moving back to Mason City, helping his son Robert in his masonry business until his retirement.

Bob loved and enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, traveling all over the United States. Bob also enjoyed camping, going to motorcycle rallies, swimming at the YMCA and his dog, Edea.

Bob was a 24-year member of the ABATE motorcycle organization and regularly attended the Salvation Army in Mason City.

Survivors include his son, Robert (Cherri) Ezarski Jr. of Mason City; his grandchildren, Wyeth Ezarski of Apple Valley, Minn., and Tyler Ezarski of Mason City; his sister, Judy Huisman of Dougherty; four nephews, Dan, Jerry, Larry and Will Huisman, all of Dougherty; as well as other extended family members and all his other biker buds.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and other biker buds.

Following the committal service at Memorial Park Cemetery, a gathering of family and friends for sharing of memories will be at Burke’s Bar & Grill, 1221 N. Federal Ave., Mason City, please bring your favorite photo of Bob with you to share.
