Clear Lake – Patricia K. Snyder, Clear Lake, Iowa was lifted to the arms of her Heavenly Father on Saturday, July 4, 2015, at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, IA.

Celebration of her life will be 1:30 PM, Thursday July 9, 2015 at the First Congregational Church, Clear Lake, IA with Rev. Fred Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery, Clear Lake. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake and then one hour prior to the service at the church.

Family suggests memorial be directed to the Patricia K. Snyder Memorial Fund or Hospice of North Iowa.

Patti was born in LeMars, Iowa to Elmore “Boots” and Betty (Mai) Wallin; attended schools in Marcus, IA and Park Rapids, MN; and graduated from Indianola, IA High School.

She was joyously united in marriage to David L. “Doc” Snyder at Epworth United Methodist Church, Des Moines, IA. The couple welcomed the birth of a daughter, Michelle Renee in 1968. In 1972 the family moved to Clear Lake, IA for Dave’s career with the Clear Lake Dental Lab, and soon became the sole owners of the business (which remained in operation until 2013 with the death of David). In 1975 they welcomed the birth of another daughter, Melanie Kay.

Patti held a variety of secretarial and receptionist positions in the area including Farm Bureau Insurance, Best-Way Manufacturing, Chappell Clinic/Dr. Gross, Serta Mattress and Clear Lake United Methodist Church. She was a member of First Congregational Church, Clear Lake.

Patti is survived by daughter, Michelle (Rob) Sharpe, grandson Bryant Swensen, granddaughter Christelle (James Boyle) Sharpe, great-grandsons, Caleb and Eli, mother Betty Wallin, Ankeny, as well as three sisters: Dianne, Brenda and Mary Ann.

She was preceded in death by daughter Melanie Kay Snyder, husband David “Doc” Snyder, father “Boots” Wallin, brother Johnny, and grandparents.
