MASON CITY — Florence O. Fritz, 92, of 22253 Orchid Avenue, died Thursday (April 20, 2006) at the Muse Norris Hospice In-patient Unit.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 714 N. Adams, with the Rev. Jon Seda officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue in Mason City.

A Scriptural Wake service will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to the Florence Fritz Memorial Fund.

Florence was born on September 11, 1913, in Mason City, the daughter of Frank and Lila (Gage) Willier. She attended Freeman Country School north of Mason City and then graduated from Mason City High School in 1931.

Florence was a life-long resident of Mason City. She was a member of the Freeman Ladies Aid, a 33-year member of the Eagles Lodge, and a 29-year member of the VFW Auxiliary.

Florence is survived by a son, Joseph Jerry Fritz, of Mason City; daughter, Jo Ann Burns, and fiancé, Charles Martens, of Clear Lake; grandchildren, Todd Burns and wife, Marcie, of Hanlontown, Robert Burns and wife, Teresa, of Coralville, Julie Olson and husband, Randy, of Mason City, James Fritz and wife, Julie, of Plymouth, Jay Fritz of Mason City; great-grandchildren, Taylor Nuehring, Michael Burns, Josie Fritz, Derek and Kendall Olson; sisters-in-law, Margaret Healey and husband, John, of California and Irene Willier of Mason City; brother- in-law, Elmer Fritz of Mason City; several nieces and nephews.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe, in 2002; sister, Marion Kittleson; brothers, Cy, Everett and Ralph Willier.
