January 29, 2014MASON CITY -- Lucas John Fitzgerald, 26, of Mason City, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at home.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at First Covenant Church, Hwy 122 at South Ohio, with the Rev. Steve Johnson officiating.
There will be a gathering of family and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave.
Memorials may be directed to the Lucas Fitzgerald Memorial Fund. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.majorericksonfuneralhome.com.
Luke was born April 5, 1987, in Mason City the son of Joseph and Tamara (Wenner) Fitzgerald. He graduated from Mason City High School in 2005. Luke worked in the construction field after high school in the Mason City area. He was an avid outdoorsman spending as much time as he could fishing and hunting. Many of his friends knew him as Fitz. Luke loved his Irish heritage and in honor of him his family requests those attending his service to wear green.
Luke is survived by his father, Joe Fitzgerald of Manly; mother, Tami (Brian) Randall of Mason City; sister, Lindsay Fitzgerald of Ankeny; maternal grandparents, Clete and Marlys Wenner of Nicollet, Minn.; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Luke was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Eugene and Josephine Fitzgerald.
