MASON CITY -- Mrs. Dan "Sharon" Duray, 59, of 16 Williamsburg Circle, Mason City, died Wednesday afternoon (Sept. 17, 1997) at the Rochester Methodist Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Holy Family Catholic Church, 714 N. Adams Ave., with the Rev. Dennis Cahill officiating. Entombment services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud, Minn., at the Mausoleum, with Father Nick Zimmer of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church officiating.

Visitation will begin after 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Fullerton Patterson James Funeral Home, 123 Second St. S.E., Mason City, with a Women of the Moose service at 6:30 p.m., followed by a Parish wake service at 7 p.m.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to direct contributions to the Sharon Duray memorial fund.

Sharon was born on March 24, 1938, at St. Cloud, Minn., to Peter and Evelyn (Hanson) Dombovy.

She graduated from the Cathedral High School in St. Cloud, in 1956. She then attended nursing school in Minneapolis. During her early years, she raised her family and worked part time in Minneapolis, Hudson, Duluth, and New Ulm.

She was united in marriage to Dan D. Duray on June 26, 1975, in Sioux Falls, S.D. They moved to Mason City in 1992 and she worked in the Floral Department at Cashwise Foods, and most recently in food service at Newman High School and Mason City High School.

She was active in the circles at Holy Family where she and Dan were members. She especially enjoyed visiting with her girls across the Midwest. She was always ready for fun and enjoyed going for hay rides and fishing at the Lake of the Woods. She was an active participant on the Moose Lodge bowling team.

Sharon leaves behind her loving husband, Dan, of Mason City; her mother, Evelyn Dombovy, St. Cloud, Minn.; nine daughters, Sandy and her husband, Craig Anderson, Menomonee Falls, Wis., Katy and her husband, Jim Latimer, Mukwonago, Wis., Kathy and her husband, Andy Johnson, Trego, Wis., Shelly and her husband, David Battenberg, Clintonville, Wis., April Duray, Mason City; Debbie and her husband, Dennis Bauer, Cannon Falls, Minn., Barbara and her husband, John Keene, Hastings, Minn., Jean and her husband, Rick Isle, Stillwater, Minn.; and Penny Duray, Hastings, Minn.; two sons, Al and his wife, Karen Duray, and Tom and his wife, Diane Duray, all of Hudson, Wis.; one sister, Dr. Mary Dombovy and her husband, Mike Johnson, of Webster, N.Y.; and one brother, Jim and his wife, Debbie Dombovy, of Cambridge, Minn.; 22 grandchildren; and six nieces and nephews.

Sharon was united in death with her father, Peter, one nephew and two aunts, Barb and Irene.
