Thomas E. Dorenkamp, 58, died Thursday (Feb. 7, 2008) at his home in Kent, Wash.

Tom was born Nov. 14, 1949, the son of the late Courtland G. and Betty J. (Brower) Dorenkamp. Tom grew up in the Clear Lake/Mason City area and graduated from Mason City High School in 1968.

After graduation, he served in the Army in theVietnam War. He has lived in Washington for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Melissa; three daughters, Amy, Sara and Beth; and one son, James; and their children. Also his mother, Betty Dorenkamp of Clear Lake; one brother, Larry Dorenkamp of Rock Falls; two sisters, Georgene (Jack) Williams of Clear Lake and Marlene Dorenkamp (Butch Brandau) of Maxwell; and three half sisters, Peggy Schultz of Mason City, Teri (John) Yount of Rainelle,W. Va., and Rose Horn of Las Vegas, Nev., along with many nieces and nephews, as well as grandnieces and grandnephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Court Dorenkamp; one brother, Richard Dorenkamp; paternal grandparents, Hauko and Nellie Barkema; maternal grandparents, Henry and Joann Brower; and many aunts and uncles.

At his request there will be no memorial service. Burial will be at Tahoma National Cemetery with Than and Sons Funeral Home in charge, 253-833-8877.
