OVERLAND PARK, KANSAS -- Gerald M. Angell, 88, of Overland Park, Kansas, formerly of Mason City, Iowa, died Monday, March 16, 2015, at his home.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Memorial Park Cemetery-Mason City, with the Rev. Steve Johnson of First Covenant Church officiating.

There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the Gerald Angell memorial fund in care of the family.

Gerald was born July 2, 1926, in Wells, Minnesota, the son of Guy and Marion (Tibbits) Angell. Gerald graduated from High School in 1944, and enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he proudly served during WWII, until his honorable discharge in 1946. Gerald married Janett A. Nuehring on Oct. 20, 1946, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Over the years he worked as a postal clerk, Realtor, Wal-Mart greeter, delivery man for the family floral shop and was one of the four original owners of Roller City. He enjoyed charity work, collecting and delivering donations and helping the homeless. He also enjoyed home remodeling. Gerald was a kind and generous man who never met a stranger. He had a friend in every line.

Gerald is survived by three sons: Daryl Angell of Overland Park, Neal (Diane) Angell of Rockford, Illinois, and Keith Angell of Overland Park; one daughter: Judy Angell of Des Moines; five grandchildren: Jack, Chip, Maisie, Brianna, and Kayla; one brother: Donald Angell of Mason City; one sister: Naomi Raymond of San Diego, California; and a special great-niece: Nadine Neir and husband Larry of Overland Park.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 1997; and one daughter: Connie Angell.
