MASON CITY -- Mary Budke, 81, of 651 Sixth St. S.E., died Monday (Dec. 23, 1996) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 714 N. Adams Ave., with the Rev. David Beckman officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. today at Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., with a scriptural wake service beginning at 7 p.m.

Memorials in her memory may be made to Hospice of North Iowa, and Holy Family Catholic Church.

Mary Budke was born June 4, 1915, at Mason City, the daughter of David and Anna (Hearity) Ryan.

She attended St. Joseph's School and Hamilton Business College, in Mason City.

She worked at Buttrey's, a downtown women's clothing store in Mason City, for many years.

She married George W. Budke on Nov. 24, 1936, in Mason City. He preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 1974.

She then married Edward Jones on July 9, 1977. He preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 1986.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the Lady Elks and the V.F.W.

Survivors include one son, Jack Budke, of Mason City; one daughter, Jill Haus and her husband, Ray, Fond du Lac, Wis.; five grandchildren Todd Budke and his wife, Terri, Palmdale, Calif., Mickey Budke, Visalia, Calif., Ryan, Darre and Robyn Haus, Fond du Lac, Wis.; one great-granddaughter, Hannah Budke, Palmdale, Calif.; one sister, Erin Hubbard, Blaine, Minn.; two sisters-in-law, Agnes Riley, Elma, and Sr. Mary Georgine, Cedar Rapids; a special friend, Erv Hoveland, Mason City; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both of her husbands and an infant son at birth.

The family extended a heartfelt "thank you" to the staff members at Good Shepherd Health Care Center and Muse Norris Hospice for their kindness and care during Mom's last months.
