Thursday, June 04, 1970Emily Louise Burris, 5412 First avenue NW, widow of John Frank Burris, and a Cedar Rapids resident the last year, died Wednesday [June 3]. Born December 21, 1901, at Luverne, Mrs. Burris was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church at Mason City.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Jeff Waters, with whom she made her home; Mrs. Glenn Prohska, also of Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Edward Despenas of Mason City; and Mrs. Harman Boike of Dike; two sons, Robert, Mason City, and Franklin, St. Petersburg, Fla.; 13 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Lester Smith, Gary, Ind.
The body was taken from Turner chapel east to the Patterson James funeral home at Mason City where services and burial [at Memorial Park Cemetery] will be held.
