MASON CITY - Hilma J. Brown, 91, of Mason City died Saturday (June 28, 2002) at the Good Shepherd Health Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Ave. with the Rev. James M. Magelssen officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., and one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church.

Hilma J. Brown was born on Nov. 22, 1910 in Worth County, Iowa, the daughter of Halvor S. and Josie (Roppe) Banken. She attended school in Hanlontown.

She was united in marriage to Ilo W. Brown on March 29, 1941, in Kensett, Iowa.

She worked for Deckers and Mason City Tent and Awning for several years before beginning her career at State Brand Creameries. She retired in 1974 after twenty years of service.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

She enjoyed playing cards and caring for her dogs.

She will be missed by those who knew and loved her including, her sister, Ella Wahl, of Mason City; her sister-in-law, Myrtle Banken, of Mason City; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ilo, in 1959; two sisters, Hazel Banken and Alice Grosland; and six brothers, Clarence, Oscar, Carl, Fred, Irvin and Ole.
